Davao City was selected as the pilot site of the multi-stakeholder project dubbed as Demonstration Site on “Enhancing Resilience to Disasters of Urban Water Systems of Mindanao” in the Philippines, a project that aims to demonstrate and enhance the resiliency to disaster on urban water systems of the communities in the city. HELP Davao Network, through the technical and financial support of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), officially launched this project through a Stakeholders’ Consultation, February 3 - 4, 2016 at Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City.

Twenty (20) volunteers of HELP Davao Network were sent to Australia to undergo the Australia Awards Fellowship (AAF) training for the program on Disaster Risk Reduction that build community resilience, safeguards agricultural livelihoods and reduces disaster recovery costs last October 14-November 12, 2015. Twenty-five (25) participants from different LGUs and River Basin Organization in Region XI and Butuan completed the 3-day intensive Integrated Water Resource Management Training last June 29 – July 1, 2015 at Brokenshire Bahay Alumni , Davao City. The selected participants were representatives from the upstream areas (Region X), Barangay Captains from 9 Barangays in Davao City (midstream to downstream), national government agencies, IP group, and peoples’ organization.
